Nursery prints

In the last week or so, Piglet has started kicking significantly harder. I love it. But I do not love the sensation. It feels weird and shuddery and vaguely unpleasant, and occasionally it's startling and sometimes downright painful. But I still love it and want it to keep happening round the clock. At the same time I can definitely foresee a time later in this pregnancy when the kicking will be highly uncomfortable and I will be grumpy about it. So consider yourselves warned.

I browsed Etsy for some more nursery prints last night. I found quite a few that I liked, unsurprisingly, but there is still one particular artist whose work I absolutely love (it is even more gorgeous in person). We have already purchased three prints of hers for the nursery (this, this, and this), but now there are three MORE of her prints that I am dying to have. But unfortunately, our budget doesn't run to buying every single print we covet for the nursery. But maybe we could afford one more?

So basically, I need your opinion about which of the following prints we should buy, if we buy any:

Option A:

Option B:

Option C:

Which one would YOU pick?

P.S. Torsten would like me to state, for the record, that he went to the Great American Beer Festival last night and actually came home early, before he became drunk enough to get sick. He is very proud of himself for this behavior and would like to be lauded accordingly.

  1. I love Option B ... because I'm a sucker for oranges and blues. =)

High five to Torsten for remaining upright last night!

Oooh, and just last night, I felt a kick that was hard enough to feel outside my belly ... Sweets was so bummed he wasn't home to participate.

  2. I vote for option C, because it goes with the rest of your prints...but I also really like option A.

And, um, congratulations Torsten, for being a reasonable adult! GOOD JOB BUDDY!

  3. Hi Jessica, I love all 3 of these but I would pick the third one - just because of all the colors and swirls :) Can't wait to see pictures of the nursery! Toby

  4. Good job, Torsten! ;)

I really like A and B; B reminds me of the movie Up for some reason, and I really like the calmness of A.

  5. I vote option A because I love the cool blues and greens!

  6. Since they're all going in the same room and the other three you've purchased all have quite a bit of yellow, I think option C would tie in better. Though I do think all three options are awesome.

  7. WTG Torsten! That sounds like something my husband would be proud of; or embarrassed by. It could really go either way. LOL

I like A and B. I really can't say which one I'd pick. I'd probably have to get both. LOL

  8. I guess B, but they aren't really my taste for nursery decor. I've always been more partial to things with animals. :)

  9. Oh, way to go Torsten! WAH-HOO! (Speaking from someone who accidentally drank too much wine last weekend and had a bonafide HANGOVER, wth?)

Also, I think I like B best, especially considering the other prints you have. It's got just enough of that wonderful warm yellow in it to fit in nicely without getting lost, ya know? But they are all wonderful, so you can't go wrong!

  10. For a nursery I like B best.

    Good boy, Torsten!

  11. Those are so cute! I'm about to re-do my son's room for his 2nd birthday and love looking at new "big boy" ideas! That said, I vote for Option B! I just love it!

Way to go Torsten! You rock!

  12. Ooo! It is a hard choice between B and C, but I am going to have to go with B.

C is so Romeo and Juliet though. So romantic. With the pinks. I really do love it. :)

  16. Oooh such a hard decision!! I think B is my favorite for a nursery. But honetly and truly, I love them all so much!

  17. I LOVE a, but I think B or C go better with your other prints. :)

    GO TORSTEN!

  18. That is a difficult choice because ALL of them are great! I guess C?

A couple friends of mine were at GABF last night. I miss that weekend. Good times, good times.

  19. For me, A. It makes me feel all shivery and calm, like the song Silent Night.

It seems like I remember when the babies got VERY big, they did not kick so much (not having the room? perhaps I am remembering this wrong)--although when they did, the kicks could be seen, and sometimes felt, from across the room. However, the kicking was pleasant compared to the unbearably crammed-full feeling of the heavy baby apparently lying on all organs at once, and/or sticking large poky body parts into diaphragm, cervix, etc. for days at a time.

  20. oh MY, those prints are just LOVELY! any of them would be a good choice. or all of them, hee. i think i like B the absolute best, though...

  21. I vote for either B or C, cause A strays away from the color schemes of the first three. Although I love it.

PS- sorry I haven't commented in a while. I've been reading though! :)

  22. I love B! I love all of them, but B really stood out to me.

Please applaud Torsten for me :-)

  23. Those prints are really nice, though I do feel like it's a lonely little house, which is making me a little sad. LOL. I like option C, because the house seems to have found a friend! haha.

Option B is really nice though, and I think would look lovely with your other prints too. Very talented artist, those are adorable pictures.

WAY TO GO, TORSTEN! HOLLA! (there, did my part, hahahaha).

  24. i love option A. it is very serene. while i do like the colors in C, for some reason, it looks as if it should be a couple's bedroom to me

  25. Yay Torsten! I like option A...it reminds me of how you guys moved to a winter wonderland in Colorado, and created a new life together, literally and figuratively.

  26. I really love option A... feels really peaceful to me. Could be a starry or snowy night it seems. Love it.

It's so awesome to be kicked, but it IS really weird, isn't it? Everyone talks about how delightful it is (and to be honest it was my favorite part of the deal, other than the baby) - but no one talks about the "OH MY GOD THERE'S SOMEONE IN THERE!" aspect of it. At the end when my stomach was getting misshapen whenever she moved it was really a bit insane.

Oh, and KUDOS TO TORSTEN! This is also something my husband would want praise for, and your request made me laugh out loud!

  27. I like Option C the best. I think, like sarah said, it matches your prev. selected prints better. :)

  28. Nice work Torsten - such great daddy material, right there! :)

I love Option B - it's so whimsical and simple, heart.

Piglet is going to have one BEAUTIFUL nursery. Such a lucky little man!

  29. Option B! I like how the clouds are held up by strings!

  30. Loving Option C. Very fun and whimsical.

  31. They are all really neat but I like C best because it looks like one house being greeted from far away - reminds me of the far flung family and friends you have!
