FALL. It is GLORIOUS. I even thought to pack a couple of my new maternity sweaters, which I haven't even had a chance to wear yet. UNTIL TODAY.
Also, this trip is vaguely like a vacation. I mean, we're both working, and also we'll hardly see each other during the day as a result, but we're in the mountains, and the weather is vacationlike, and somebody else cleans up after us, and, well, we haven't actually been able to afford a vacation since Torsten quit his job, so this is as close as it's going to get, at least for now, and I will take it. HEAVENLY. The cool air alone is enough for me at this point. Especially since the AC is still broken in our car.
And, it only took us an hour and a half to get here. At rush hour. I'm still not sure I can really believe how close we live to such gorgeous places. We haven't been out to explore anywhere yet (see above re: work), but the view from our balcony alone is stunning:

Oh, I'm so jealous! I don't think we'll get up into the mountains this fall. (September is my FAVORITE Colorado season) (except for the hunting, which eliminates some potential activities for nonhunters).

We are actually getting a bunch of trees turning here in CT- pretty early but I think it is because we haven't had any rain this summer.

Oh I'm jealous! We usually try to get up to the mountains to see the fall colors the first weekend of October, but that's not happening this year. Silly CU Georgia game.

Man, that looks awesome. The Rockies and the Black Hills are similar in climate (and not all that far in geography), so this makes me homesick, in a good way.

It's been like 82 here during the day and we are all WEE FALL! It's pretty sad really.
IMO, there is nothing like mountain air. We've been to the mountains in NH twice, in the early Autumn when it is in the low 70's during the day and the 40's at night. Nothing better.
