Inaugural belly shots

So, um, after I posted these photos on Twitter yesterday people's reactions made me realize that it's been quite awhile since I posted a photo of myself, or at least a full-body shot. So! What better time to remedy that than when I am 14 weeks pregnant and actually starting to show?

And by "show" I mean my belly is sticking out further in the second photo than in the first even though I have actually lost weight since the first was taken. I do not mean that strangers on the street would think I was pregnant. To the contrary, they would probably think I've been drinking waaaaay too much beer.

But I know what's causing that belly, and that's what matters! Also, the fact that there's already a belly at 14 weeks gives me hope that by the end of the pregnancy, I might actually look undeniably pregnant. This is my great wish.

Anyway! Onto the photos! Here I am at 10 weeks (technically 10 weeks and 2 days):

And here I am at 14 weeks (really 13 weeks and 6 days):

I'm wearing the same pair of jeans in both photos (though I don't wear those jeans anymore, as they are uncomfortably tight), and though it's not literally the same shirt, they are identical cuts from Old Navy, so they are the same for comparative purposes. So, what do you think? Delusional, or starting to show?

  11. That limbo stage is annoying when you could be pregnant or (as you said) look like you drank too much beer. But I think you definitely look pregnant and soon and very soon, everyone will know that you are indeed expecting. You look wonderful Jess! I'm so happy for you guys!
I went the opposite way my first few months...I gained big time!

  13. Congrats Jess, you look great! Even though you're really excited to finally blog about being pregnant, I think a post about all your weight loss thus far would be awesome. Also, how the weight loss will *weigh in* (ha ha) to the pregnancy. That is, will you continue to lose weight? Will you reach your goal weight WHILE pregnant? Does your weight pose any pregnancy risks, or are those eradicated by exercising & eating healthy? Have you changed your diet now that you're pregnant?

  17. I've mostly lurked for a while now, with a few comments here and there, and I just HAD to comment on this post. That's a baby bump for sure, and might I add that you look fabulous. I wish I looked that good when I was pregnant, but I really did just look like I was fat until about 5 months along. I do remember thinking that I couldn't wait to actually look pregnant, and by the time it finally happened it was every bit as nice as I had hoped it would be -- in spite of the nausea and swollen feet and other symptoms. Enjoy this time!

  18. You look stunning! That is a CUTE baby bump!!!

Since it'll still be a little while before I get to experience this myself, but I'm JUST LIKE YOU in that I can't stop thinking about it even though it's WAY too early to think about it (um, what with the not even being married yet -- but Martin insists he won't make me wait another 6 years for that, LOL), I'm so living vicariously through you. Thanks for keeping us so updated via your blog, I'm so excited for you and Torsten!
