Eleven days until the wedding.
Ten-day forecasts will include our wedding day very, very soon. And then be ready for me to refresh them incessantly until it's time to actually put on the big white dress. Even though our wedding is entirely indoors. (I decided I didn't want to spend a year worrying about the weather. Fabulous choice. But we still want our photos outside, and rain makes my hair frizz.)
Nine tables at the reception. Each of which has a name card, a set of purple taper candles (with holders and mirrors), a centerpiece plan, a purple tablecloth, a seating plan, and a menu card all ready to go.
Eight bathing suits that we are bringing on our honeymoon between the two of us. What? We don't want to have to put a wet suit back on after lunch! And the beautiful thing about a November tropical honeymoon is that you can get all that stuff on sale!
Seven boxes that I picked up from the package room at once the other day. Everyone who works in our building knows we're getting married because of the non-stop packages. It's awesome. And my arms are getting buff from all that hauling. Perfect timing for the strapless dress.
Six amazing wedding party members, stepping up and offering to do so much to make things easier for us.
Five different beautifying and purifying routines that I have planned for the week before the wedding. Waxing, threading, facial, massage, sodium detox (except for that Thai food)... it will be awesome. Or miserable. And if it's the latter, screw it. I'd rather experience minor bloat than be miserable for a week.
Four different kinds of ribbon ordered to finish the favors, just to make sure that there would be one I liked. And there was. Just one. The other three types will have to wait for some post-wedding crafty project. Or they'll just wait forever.
Three delicious Thai dishes that we selected to be served at our rehearsal dinner. Noodles and curry and duck--all delicious. Mmm.
And--the title bullet of this post--two things left on my to-do list. Only two. And both of them will be done this week. Leaving us ready to enjoy that last week before the wedding and the guests who are coming into town ahead of time.
One very good reason to remain calm. And happy. And almost married.

That is amazing. Enjoy your last few days. It's almost your wedding day!!
ReplyDeleteOh, you guys are just adorable. That is absolutely awesome that you only have 2 things left to do. Your wedding is going to be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSqueal! So close!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! And ya know what. Even if you've forgotten something you still have plenty of time to do it. That must feel so good!
ReplyDeleteYou are so organized! I am very jealous =)
ReplyDeleteYay! You are almost there! I'm so impressed that you only have two things left to do and will have a nice week to relax. Oh, and you have to tell us how the threading goes; I've always wondered if it's less painful than waxing or tweezing.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could be a wedding planner when all this is over. You're so calm and organized and together... very atypical of brides in my experience!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a picture of zen!
ReplyDeletecongratulations and good luck!
ReplyDeleteIt's so close!!! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteand you thought you'd NEVER get those check marks clicked!
ReplyDeleteIt dawned gray and misty on my wedding day and we got married outside. Four years later, we're still happy. Try not to freak out about those forecasts!
I continue to be impressed by your planning. It's amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you should be wedding planner! I'm really excited for you.

ReplyDeleteGreat list and its soooo close!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you only have 2 things left to do - you rock!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool post, Jess! Woo hoo!!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love ordering ribbon. And getting married is the best possible reason for lots of ribbon!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it's going to be so fun - which is awesome. Fun weddings are the best.
I want a week of beauty related treatments. But with no wedding, I don't think I have an excuse...
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait to see pictures that I hope you will be sharing. So excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable and AMAZING. Two things is nothing. Enjoy your last few days :)
ReplyDeleteWow, only 11 days! Yay! I am jealous of your honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteYou're so amazingly organized!!
ReplyDeleteAm very envious of how calm you are with only ELEVEN (squee!) days left. I think I was a basket case by this point. Your wedding is going to be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! 11 days!!! Also you are a organizing goddess!
ReplyDeleteOH, THE INCESSANT CHECKING OF THE FORECAST. That was awful!
ReplyDeleteI can't belive it's nine days and counting...you seem to have everything planned to the T!
ReplyDeleteso so SOOO excited for you! sounds like everything is coming together perfectly!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list!
ReplyDeleteHappy for you :)
Yay!!
ReplyDelete(That's pretty much all I've got.) :-) Glad everything's fallen into place.
Your perspective is awesome. Marrying Torsten is the one thing that matters. When you focus on the joy in that alone, everything else just falls into place.
ReplyDeleteI hope the week before your wedding is restful and fun.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got married I passed EVERYTHING off to friends the week before, and refused to do anything wedding-related. It was heaven.
Hey Jess,
ReplyDeleteI've just spent literally the last hour catching up on all your blog posts since I've been away - I'm really slack, but I don't like to delete a whole two months worth of posts to start from scratch - I like to read back!
Your wedding is so close! I love that you and Torsten are so chilled out, and genuinely so perfect for each other. I can't wait for you to have your special day - and to share it with us all, of course! :-P
Big hugs to you!
Exciting! It is so close!
ReplyDelete(and so weirdly wedding-ey in bloggie land these days, which makes me smile)
I wish I had been this organized. Awesome. Even if something goes astray on the big day...trust me. You won't care.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun countdown!
ReplyDeleteHoly Ohmigoodness I can't believe it's almost here!
ReplyDeleteI think you win the prize for single most organized bride EVER. What's the opposite of Bridezilla? Bridealliz? That's you.
Hooray! :)
