Finally, FINALLY, after months of planning and deliberating and stressing and gluing, I'm ready to show you our wedding invitations. My apologies for the delay, but I wanted to make sure that everyone had received theirs so that no blog-reading invitee got their first glimpse online instead of in person. As far as I know, all the invitations have safely arrived at their destinations, so, here we go.
First, the envelope, addressed and stamped:
Next, what you see when you open the envelope:
A closer look at the lining:
When you pull the invitation out, you see this:
When you open it, you see this:
A closeup of the main part:
A closeup of the pocket and inserts:
Although the main invitation was in both German and English, the inserts were done separately and each person was given only the ones in their appropriate language. Info card not pictured because I would have had to blur out basically everything:
Also, as a side note, the RSVPs have started to come in, and can I just say that even though "Can't wait!" is pre-printed on the card? Every time a "yes" comes in and that circle is checked, I'm all like, "Aww, they can't wait. How sweet!" Yes, really. Apparently I'm easily tricked.
And lastly, all of them piled together, sealed and stamped and ready to be mailed:
By the time they were done, I could no longer tell if they were pretty and interesting and reflective of us, or if they were just boring, amateurish attempts. But looking at these pictures, I think it's the former. At least, that's what I'm going to keep telling myself.

ReplyDeleteI also like the Can't wait/Can't make it idea. I never know what to put on that line where it says: M_______________________ It feels weird to put Homer and Marge Simpson. Perhaps I need to grow up.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say Mr. Homer...

ReplyDeleteYay! I think they're very "You." (You know, insofar as I actually know you.) :-) Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThey are so totally YOU. And I really love how thoughtful you were to both the English speakers and German speakers. And the idea that you had both on the actual invitation is such a great illustrative to the merging of your families into one. And, well, they're just great. Probably because there's enough overlap with ours that I'm also patting myself on the back. hahaha. And I echo your sentiments - totally exciting to get the RSVPs. It makes that day so much more real!
