As the wedding gets closer and more and more details start to fall into place, I've been able to refine my inspiration board to more and more closely resemble our actual wedding. I'm now on Inspiration Board 3.0, and six of the nine images are things we are going to use in our real wedding. The other three very closely resemble what will appear on the day of.
Not one of the photos from the original inspiration board appears in the current one. But that board was very useful in guiding the planning to the point represented in the current board. It still makes me happy whenever I look at it, despite how far things have come since then.
Anyway, the original board (click to enlarge all boards):
And round two, developed a few months later:
And the current board:
Unfortunately, I do not have image credits for all of these, but most of them are from The Knot and Brides.com. The boards themselves (the last two, anyway) were created with a fun Mosaic Maker that can eat up hours of free time--clearly, you should all check it out.
As further evidence of the mosaic maker's addictiveness, I leave you a collage of photos of our honeymoon resort, taken from Trip Advisor. I know you're jealous:
Have a great weekend!

This recipe sounded delicious to me when I came across it, and it turned
out that it was. Also, I've reached the point with cooking where I can make

Even though I saw the board yesterday, I still think it's super lovely, and I'm so honored to get to come! And seriously, maybe you should have showed me the honeymoon board? Because it looks uber relaxing, and something I desperately need right now!
ReplyDeleteMy best friend is in the midst of planning a lavender wedding. I'm going to send her over here for some inspiration.
ReplyDeletethe inspiration board is such a great idea. and your honeymoon looks like it will be so relaxing. :)
ReplyDeleteThose inspiration boards look awesome. They're making me want to make one so I can gather all of my thoughts in the same place instead of scattered all over my computer.
ReplyDeleteAnd mmmm. . . hammocks. . .
Sorry to be late in chiming in on all your wedding fun, but have you looked at some wedding photographer portfolios? They have some amazing shots that might give you more inspiration (though your board is sweet as is).
ReplyDeleteA few I like are:
Jessica Claire
Jasmine Star
Becker
can I just say that your "real" dress? Is SO MUCH BETTER than your original idea. And while I like the third cake, the second one is my fave.
ReplyDeleteCould we please talk weddings 24/7. I am in heaven.
Oooooh! Everything is SO PURDY! I love those shoes on the current board. Very nice. And the dress! And the beautiful table! AND THE BEACH.
ReplyDeleteI love your inspiration and was looking for a board maker so your post today has been tres helpful! You are going to make lavender look so chic and classy.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend lady!
I can't believe that you would pick such an ugly place for your honeymoon. Okay...I'm obviously kidding and VERY jealous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the polka-dot cake. It's fun, and whimsical.
ReplyDeleteGood job. Can't wait to see pictures of the actual event (and that dress is stunning! Is that the one you'll be wearing?)
Uhm ... jealous! What a great honeymoon place!
ReplyDeleteI love your wedding boards... although I miss the purple cake from round two. But still gorgeous!
Btw, I would love to send you a little prezzie for the wedding. Let me know if you'd like that.
I AM jealous now, thankyouverymuch! That looks like heaven to me!
ReplyDeleteWill the polka dot cake be purple, not red? Only because I really loved the second cake, it looks so cool with your color scheme!
I AM jealous! Man, I want a vacation. Also, I love the polka dot cake. (I loved cake #2, too, but the dotted one looks maybe a little more like something you'd be willing to cut and eat.)
ReplyDeleteAnywhere there is a hammock is where I want to be.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much your initial plans and ideas change.
ReplyDeleteBut I have no doubt your wedding will be wonderful...and very purple!
If you get a chance, check my blog and vote. We're kind of in the same boat and I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Your wedding choices look so beautiful! I love the purple touches. I wish you and Torsten the most lovely, happy, perfect wedding day!
ReplyDeleteyour cake looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteSo wait, which 3 aren't the right images? I'm extremely curious now.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like the longer tables at receptions like you have pictured. I always wondered how everyone made those boards!
ReplyDeleteTwo things -
ReplyDelete1. your wedding looks BEAUTIFUL.
2. I would like to go on your honeymoon please. But, I'll get my own room so you and Torsten can be alone and stuff.
I'm so excited for you Jess! I seriously can't wait until you get married because I can't wait to see your photos!
ReplyDeleteI love all the idea boards. So cute!!! Have a great wknd!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we have to wait until NOVEMBER to see the real pictures. Your flowers are going to look amazing - along with everything else of course.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm pouting with a hint of jealousy.
I already knew I was envious of your honeymoon. I love love love the latest cake pic!!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the honeymoon. We loved ours (we went to Aruba). I am hoping we can do another this year, lol :)
ReplyDeleteThose boards are SUCH a great idea! I love to see how things change.
ReplyDeleteI am wedding board challenged. I just have a lot of book marks. Have you been to snippet and ink?
ReplyDeleteokay i love it all. the inspiration boards are so cool and creative, and i love the purple, so fun.
ReplyDeleteTotally unrelated to your post (except that I was reminded by your fabulous wedding shoes of how hard you had to look for them), but wanted to make sure you knew that Yoox is having a sale on all of their Spring-Summer stuff and they have lots of great size 11 shoes marked down. That sounds like a spam comment, doesn't it? Oh well.

ReplyDeleteso the pictures that belong to you are the shoes, the dress, reception, the favour? cards, the cane sugar sticks, and the save the date cards. No idea what the 6th photo is, but I'm guessing flowers.
ReplyDeleteNice honeymoon - Hawaii? :S (forgive me if im wrong).
Whatever happened to the idea for the purple cake?? (and have you decided on flavours yet? I think you should share. Oh yes, I do.)
oh jeez, never mind, apparently I CAN'T COUNT. strike the phrase about the flowers, because I'm clearly having a blonde day.
ReplyDelete(hey, im a blonde, so I get to make fun of myself. Any non-blondes? not so much. It's like the racial card in comedy. If you're an Asian making fun of Asians, all the more power to you. If you're a caucaisan making fun of Asians, BOO HISS BOO).
Wow, so pretty! Way to make me jealous :)
ReplyDeleteum yes, am TOTALLY jealous of the honeymoon collage!!!
ReplyDeletei love the inspiration board. it's always been lovely, but i love how much of it now is ACTUAL DEFINITE things that will be there :-)
OMG! The cake is too too cute! I liked the other ones on the first two boards as well. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, to have an inspiration board with your actual stuff on it! You must be psyched. I think, also, that a purplicious wedding is inherently fun. Seriously, I think purple is such a great, unexpected color that it naturally brings people out of themselves. At least, that's my theory.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, your wedding could be an awesome social experiment. Please report back in full. =)
i like the current board the best! what fun!
ReplyDeletelooks incredible!!
ReplyDeletesorry I haven't commented in awhile, I haven't been near the internet -
but I am back!
All of the boards look amazing. I love the colors. That's such a great idea about creating inspiration boards for the wedding. I'll have to tell my friend about this.
ReplyDeleteI love your purple theme, I would be so going purple if I was getting married!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous, and I love everything about your wedding. :)
ReplyDeleteThe cake is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd where is your honeymoon?? It looks stunning!!
Okay, a) I like the dress you've decided on quite a bit, b) I like the cake in version 3.0 much more than version 2.0 (I can imagine purple mouths... lots of purple mouths) and c) I LOVE the purple shoes!
ReplyDeleteBut, then again, I love purple. :o)
mosaic maker...here i come!! that's awesome!
