So, our photographer emailed us to let us know that the CD with the full set of our engagement photos is in the mail, and in the meantime there were a few teaser pics for us to check out. So of course, I had to pass them along to all of you. In case it isn't clear from the watermark, all photos are courtesy of the amazing and wonderful Rich Dutchman. Don't steal them.
Aren't they great? I HEART THEM. I can't wait until the CD arrives so we can see the full set. Also, if you look closely at the first photo? Note the purple shoes.
In other news, we had the crappiest weather yesterday. In the middle of the afternoon the sky suddenly got very dark and then we had a HUGE thunderstorm. It was raining so hard that it looked like a cloud outside our window but it was actually raindrops. And personally, I think it feels very strange to be at the office during weather like that. Thunderstorms feel like intimate things that happen at home. It's odd to be with your coworkers during them.
Also, the weather led to the major commuter rails to both the Maryland and Virginia suburbs closing down due to power outages and fallen trees, plus flash flood warnings, traffic light outages, and huge Metro delays. It was one of those times when I felt really lucky to live IN the city and not have to worry about a heinous commute. I can only imagine how many commuters were stuck in the city trying to figure out a way to get home. It must have been cab drivers' lucky day.
And yes, I do realize that I just devoted two full paragraphs to talking about the weather. But I actually find weather INTERESTING, okay? There's a REASON it's a cliché, and it's because lots of people talk about it because they actually WANT to discuss it. And I am one of those people. So there.

This recipe sounded delicious to me when I came across it, and it turned

I am one of those people who actually enjoy talking about the weather too. In fact, weather.com is as prominent a screen on my computer as Outlook.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I told you already what I thought of the photos but again, I love them. And my favorites are your favorites which is kind of funny. :)
Could you two be any cuter? Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the black and white.
ReplyDeletethose turned out awesome! I love the B&W one.
ReplyDeleteAlso? the weather? HORRENDOUS. Knocked out our power 'till 11pm.
Blah.
LOVE! the pictures. I can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteOh I HEART HEART HEART number two!! So dang cute!! I think we actually had our engagement photos taken at the same place, minus the fabulous photographer. Murf.
ReplyDeleteAnd the weather yesterday was AWFUL (we're in DC area too)!! There were tornados in our area and I ran through a lightening filled parking lot (not to mention the crazy downpour) to get to my car. My babies were at home and there were tornado spottings in our city. FREAK OUT!!!! Yeah, yesterday was a mess. But I love your photos. Makes today all the more cheery!
awwww. so sweet jess.
ReplyDeletei'm liking #1 and #4 the best, although they are all obviously great : )
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be home during a thunderstorm because if I'm comforting scared cats, it distracts me from not liking thunder myself. Weird but true.
The pictures turned out SO cute and full of personality! Love them! ~LA
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that first one (loved it even before you pointed out the purple shoes). They're all really great.
ReplyDeleteYay! love, love, love, love! Each one is cuter than the next. You found a great photographer!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great! And the outfit is perfect. The last one is my favorite...black and white...the pose...it's just so natural! Also, I totally talk about the weather too much; I've got whole blog posts dedicated to it, pictures and all. I love hearing about DC thunderstorms :)
ReplyDeleteIs there something about black and white photos that just instinctively make it that much more gorgeous? They're all beautiful, Jess, but I LOVE #4. I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah. It was raining pretty hard here too in Jersey. Go weather!
OMG! You look SO AWESOME. These pics are perfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll of those pictures are so sweet and wonderful. I especially like #1 and #4. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI also like to talk about the weather, especially when it sucks (weather.com: "Rain for the next week!").
oh i LOVE them! you will be posting more on facebook when you get them right? :)
ReplyDeleteTHEY. ARE. BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to talk about weather too :) Right now I am at work in Chicago, but I think there is a tornado warning in the suburb I live in :(
The fourth one is my fave!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are gorgeous, Jess! They turned out really well, and your outfit looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, that last one just makes me want to cry! So beautiful! I'm so happy for you, for serious.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures look awesome! You two look so happy and in love!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I kind of heart weather too. I used to watch the weather channel religiously (even some of the shows).
Awesome pictures! You two look great!!!
ReplyDelete:-)
Oh my gosh how much do i love those shots of you guys! You look stunning and the both of you look sooo happy and in love. I especially heart heart heart the black and white one. :)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL PICTURES! I think the photographer captured your love perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't talk about weather much, but I do check weather.com obsessively.
WOW! You two look amazing, and so, so, SO in love. Those are great shots.
ReplyDeleteI love the weather too, but I live in San Diego, so there's really not much to talk about...
(Did I just complain about living in San Diego?)
Gah! You guys look like the opening credits from Mad About You, AKA the cutest opening credits ever. I love them!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are wonderful! You both look great!!
ReplyDeleteI am disliking this weather as well...
Oh my god, how adorable and in love are you two?!?! I really love the first one. And yeah, the DC weather has been awful! My poor dog is so afraid of storms :(
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love your pics!! I was going to say that #3 is my favorite, but then I looked at them all again and realized that they are all gorgeous. How am I supposed to pick a favorite?
ReplyDeleteoh my god, i LOVE those photos. LOVE. i adore pics like these where it looks like he just happened to capture cute / intimate moments between the 2 of you. AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteand HOLY EFF the weather yesterday!? our building lost power at about 3:30; the generators failed by 4:30, and all the restaurants / businesses in the area had to close b/c of no power. even when coming to work this MORNING about 80% of the traffic lights were still out between my house and work.
Great shots! I am particularly fond of the first one. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteoh my GOD I LOVE THEM.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your photos sooooo much! And the purple shoes are so cool. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, the photos look really fantastic...love them
ReplyDeleteOkay 1. YOU LOOK AWESOME.
ReplyDelete2. That location is soooooo pretty and perfect.
3. I don't know much about photography, but these pictures just... capture the moment. They're lovely. I can't wait to see more!
4. Also, nice shoes!
5. I think I like the 2nd last one best. But they're all lovely!
I love discussing the weather!

ReplyDeleteLOVELY photos! You guys look so wonderful and in love. I especially love the last one, it's so tender and sweet.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, sweet photos! Love!
ReplyDeletexox
The black and white one is my favorite. What? you didn't ask us to pick favorites? I don't care it's lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteWow. They are awesome and you must be thrilled! The first one is so downright sexy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the second one! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI heart you and your adorableness. That is all.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jess. They are just beautiful. I am so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, if you had asked me BEFOREHAND whether or not I would approve, in general, of a makeout picture? I would have been like, "HELL NO".
And yet. I love that kissing one. I LOVE IT.
Oh my god, I LOVE THEM. You look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, I LOVE THEM. You look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJess, those pictures are stunning! They are all beautiful and you guys look phenomenal. The b&w one is especially gorgeous, though.
ReplyDeleteThey turned out great! I <3 black and white photos.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are awesome! See all that stressing over what to wear. Didn't even matter in the end. You both look so happy! Really in love!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the weather. The power went out in my office yesterday and never came back on. It won't be back on until Saturday. Crazy! So I am home for a couple days, not too shabby.
If the only channel I had access to on TV was The Weather Channel, I'd be happy. LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! If those are just a teaser, imagine how great the others are going to be! I think the lightpost kissy one is my favorite.
Weather and me, we are friends. Well, okay, NOT stormy weather, but I love weather.
ReplyDeleteAND I love you pictures! GAHHHHH!!! They turned out SO well, Jess! That black and white pic is pure gold!
We had the same storms here in southeastern PA; our lower floor flooded. I'm sitting here with all the dryer fans and dehumidifiers running around me.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are FANTASTIC!!!! I ESPECIALLY LOVE the black and white one!
Oh Jess, they are so perfect. I especially love the last one. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like the first and second ones best. You both look so passionate and well, INTO each other in the kissing one. And I love how happy you look in number two, and I also have curly hair (naturally) but I find myself envying yours.
ReplyDeleteThose are stunning photos! You both look so happy and so in love, the photographer perfectly captured the emotion.
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the weather...especially since it is JUNE and it is ONLY FIFTY TWO DEGREES HERE.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think that God must be a Florida Republican who just wants to give the simpletons more reasons to hate Al Gore.
Huh. There's probably a blog post in there somewhere. :)
i *love* your pictures! they are fabulous. you guys are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteadorable!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Im hiring a wedding photographer right now and I hope that our engagement pics turn out as lovely as yours.
ReplyDeleteThat black and white is SO lovely. As if we're all in on your beautiful private little moment. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you on the thunderstorms being private. They're also terribly romantic to me and romance with co-workers? Blech. I miss those big storms. We rarely if ever get them on the West Coast.
The pictures came out SO BEAUTIFULLY. Good outfit choice, by the way :)
ReplyDeleteVERY cute. .. I particularly love that first and last one.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great! Have you seen the "guest books" people use for their weddings ... the new thing is taking casual pictures of the couple and making a hard-bound book with pages for guests to sign. I think we're going to do that ... which reminds me, I need to get my bestest pal / maid of honor on board to take some of those shots!
ReplyDeleteaw these are so cute, i love the last one the best. adorable.
ReplyDeleteSQUEEE!!! I love those pictures! You look so nice. Both of you. And so very in love. It's like the photographer just happened to stumble across you whilst out walking and snapped this pics. I LOVE THEM!
ReplyDeleteFirst pic is the best :)
ReplyDeleteGREAT photos! I'm anxiously awaiting my wedding photos. It's fun to read your posts about your wedding, but I have to admit I'm so happy mine is over :)
ReplyDeleteYay you picked the black shirt!! And they are so amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! I especially love the B&W one, it's gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteWow i especially love that last one, it's just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteYay, so cute! I love the first one.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, brilliant, brilliant! What an exciting time for you guys. Your photos are lovely, you can just see how much you guys love each other!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it was weird or wrong when there's a thunderstorm while I'm at work, too! I can't explain it, but I feel exactly the same way: if it's storming, I'm supposed to be at home, not there. (Incidentally, it stormed here today, too. I was in my car at the time, which feels equally wrong.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, beautiful pictures! :-)
Love the pictures!!!! Where did you guys take them?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes the weather majorly sucked. Thankfully no loss of power.
I HEART THEM TOO! What great pics! Apparently the weather is going nuts every where, we are having 45 mile per hour winds with 96 degree weather - strange but interesting!
ReplyDeleteYou guys, they are the most precious pictures - I am in love with them just a little bit.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic Jess, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!
Jess! These are adorable and made me go AWW.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, they are fantastic! I'm so so happy for you!
These photos melted my heart! They are so very, very sweet.
ReplyDelete<3
The pictures are fantastic! I adore the black and white one-- Torsten just looks so content!
ReplyDeleteJess, those pictures are fanTASTic. Simply amazing. I mean like making me want some e-pics amazing. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI also just appreciated the awesomeness of your photographer's name. My fiance is half dutch, so I should borrow him!
The first thing I noticed in the first pic was the shoes! Love them!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are gorgeous!
Have I told you these are fantastic? THEY ARE!
ReplyDeleteoh, they're absolutely beautiful! i loooove the first one!
ReplyDeleteYour pics are adorable. And I ♥ the purple shoes... so cute!
ReplyDeleteI think weather is really interesting too... I especially love thunderstorms, and I have to say that I agree with you about it being sort of weird to go through a thunderstorm with coworkers!
I like the second and fourth ones best.
ReplyDeleteAlso, ALL the professional photos I've seen lately have a bunch of TILTED ones. It is such a trend right now, that if I were going to hire a professional photographer for something I would have to specify, "And please don't tilt them." It does look cool, I admit.
you look beautiful
ReplyDeleteyou two look stunning
ReplyDeleteOh My, your photos came out gorgeous! Great choice of outfit!
ReplyDeleteLOVE! LOVE.
