It sounds like accidentally getting it twisted and pulled, with a soft metal like gold, could make it stretch that much. Anyway, after all the construction was done, things just seemed a bit odd, and on measuring I realized some of the chains dangled longer than they were supposed to. On studying their make up, I gathered, chains are linked differently, those having foxtail, box, or serpentine links, can actually stretch if the chain is extremely intricate. Just a thought, maybe that's the mystery behind it all....or then again maybe it is the necklace gnomes.ANAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07414817964629791250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-76290331983344734462008-01-02T21:38:00.000-07:002008-01-02T21:38:00.000-07:00that IS odd...but i have no explanation!i hope you...that IS odd...but i have no explanation!
i hope you figure it out/get it exchanged without too much hassle!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-37563855587626528472008-01-02T15:38:00.000-07:002008-01-02T15:38:00.000-07:00I'm literally scratching my head. I think it must have gotten twisted "against the grain" so to speak, and then pulled, making it stretch out and making it so that the twist couldn't be undone. It could have happened by getting caught on a sweater you were taking off. That would explain the twistiness, the added length (though it seems like an awful lot of added length) and the stiffness. Hmmm... you'd think I'd have other things to think about to occupy my time.emailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03653316423608779303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-21707277511096367012008-01-02T14:55:00.000-07:002008-01-02T14:55:00.000-07:00really, really weird. But I know what happened. Torsten accidently dropped the good one down the drain/vent/sink, and knowing it was your favorite gift ran out to replace it but couldn't find the one he originally bought, so he picked up the only one he could find. Do you happen to have a close-up of before? If not, an advertisement photo for the chain? Take one of it now for the after. Not to mention that stretching by over 5 inches is just... weird.

I think someone is f***ing with you. Damned necklace gnomes.
