We use toddler socks (the kind with little rubber treads on the bottom), and b/c they are really small he seems to have an easier time adjusting than when we use big ones.

There's also some stuff called Bitter Apple that you can spray on hot spots, etc. to keep them from licking. I don't like to spray it on open wounds (b/c I've gotten it in a cut and it stings) but I spray it over Argo's bandage and it keeps him from picking at it.Alliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16603700427096296937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-4974977719827769542009-08-04T14:25:04.925-06:002009-08-04T14:25:04.925-06:00Poor Montana! And it's no fun to see your baby in pain nor is it fun to do things to your dog that they don't want you to do. We've been there with SoMi, so I feel your pain. My dog managed to cut one of the pads on his paw a while ago, and we had to do the whole sock thing to keep dirt out of the wound when we took him outside. He was so not a fan. Our vet told us to soak the wound for about 5 minutes twice a day to help keep it clean. It cleared up within a week.

I hope Montana is 100% soon!Katehttp://dailyeditor.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-64158620849948439352009-08-04T08:25:15.550-06:002009-08-04T08:25:15.550-06:00Poor puppy dog :( This actually happened to our G...Poor puppy dog :( This actually happened to our Golden Retriever two weeks ago. He broke his nail at the dog park. The whole nail did not come off though, he broke it close to the bone and had to have the remaining nail surgically removed. What was nice is that the vet put padding on the bottom of his foot before wrapping it up so it was easier for him to walk! Our vet said he was the THIRD dog in a few days to come in with the same problem!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830580564103635181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-5262721760514248552009-08-04T08:16:52.684-06:002009-08-04T08:16:52.684-06:00Aww you guys are such good doggie parents!Aww you guys are such good doggie parents!missrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03595843215458849973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2119996845182958780.post-52068852891770311692009-08-04T07:48:56.960-06:002009-08-04T07:48:56.960-06:00Aw!
